Russia should be included in the peace settlement process in Ukraine, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, said at a press conference in Davos on Sunday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF).According to the Swiss diplomat, representatives of 83 countries are taking part in the discussion of the "Ukrainian peace formula" in Davos. According to him, China is not participating, but India, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, which are members of BRICS will be present. The annual World Economic Forum (WEF) is taking place in Davos, Switzerland, from January 15 to 19.The "peace formula", developed and promoted by Kiev, requires the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity, provision of Euro-Atlantic security guarantees to it, as well as the creation of a special tribunal to investigate "war crimes" attributed to Russia. Moscow says Zelenskyy’s "peace formula" is completely divorced from reality.Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for talks, but Ukraine has introduced a ban on them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on Russia to hold negotiations, for which Moscow shows readiness, but the West ignores Kiev’s constant refusal to engage in dialogue.Earlier, the Kremlin said that there are no prerequisites for the situation in Ukraine to move to a peaceful direction now, the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of the special operation, at the moment this is possible only by military means. The Kremlin has said that the situation in Ukraine can move to a peaceful course if the de facto situation and new realities are taken into account, all of Moscow's demands are well known.

In November 2022, at the Group of Twenty summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kiev had a ten-point "plan to achieve peace." These include nuclear, food and energy security, an "all-for-all" exchange of captives and the "restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity". The plan completely ignores Moscow's position.
Russia should be included in the peace settlement process in
Ukraine, Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, said at a press conference in Davos on Sunday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
"We should find a way to bring Russia into peace discussions. There will be no peace if Russia cannot have its say," Cassis said.
According to the Swiss diplomat, representatives of 83 countries are taking part in the discussion of the "
Ukrainian peace formula" in Davos. According to him, China is not participating, but India, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, which are members of BRICS will be present.
The annual World Economic Forum (WEF) is taking place in Davos, Switzerland, from January 15 to 19.
The "peace formula", developed and promoted by Kiev, requires the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity, provision of Euro-Atlantic security guarantees to it, as well as the creation of a special tribunal to investigate "war crimes" attributed to Russia. Moscow says Zelenskyy’s "peace formula" is completely divorced from reality.
Moscow has repeatedly
indicated that it is ready for talks, but Ukraine has introduced a ban on them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on Russia to hold negotiations, for which Moscow shows readiness, but the West ignores Kiev’s constant refusal to engage in dialogue.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that there are no prerequisites for the situation in Ukraine to move to a peaceful direction now, the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of the special operation, at the moment this is possible only by
military means. The Kremlin has said that the situation in Ukraine can move to a peaceful course if the de facto situation and new realities are taken into account, all of Moscow's demands are well known.
