Ghaninan President Nana Akufo-Addo said at the maiden Physicians and Surgeons Awards that his vesion is to "make Ghana the center of excellence of medical care in West Africa by 2030."Speaking about the progress of the country's Agenda 111 Hospital Project, according to which the government launched the construction or renovation of 111 medical facilities across Ghana, the leader noted that "the construction of 86 district hospitals, two regional psychiatric hospitals, and the western regional hospital are ongoing which are all at various levels of completion."The president went on to say that "the average completion rate of the 89 projects is 52%, with work at some of the sites at 70% to 80% complete."Earlier, Ghana's Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah announced that the construction of the healthcare facilities under the initiative will be finished by the end of 2024.

Ghana's President Plans to 'Make Country Center of Excellent Medical Care in West Africa by 2030'
In early July, Ghana's Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed that the construction of 111 hospitals in Ghana, under the country's Agenda 111 Hospital Project aiming to improve access to healthcare in the West African country, would be completed by the end of 2024, and around 88 medical facilities are being built at the moment.

medical care in West Africa by 2030."
Speaking about the progress of the country's Agenda 111 Hospital Project, according to which the government launched the construction or renovation of 111
medical facilities across Ghana, the leader noted that "the construction of 86 district hospitals, two regional psychiatric hospitals, and the western regional hospital are ongoing which are all at various levels of completion."
"Beyond the building of these new healthcare facilities, my vision is to help make Ghana the center of excellence of medical care in West Africa by 2030, Leveraging on Ghana’s favorable status as the most peaceful country in the West Africa sub-region, a beacon of democracy and a land of opportunities," Akufo-Addo added.
The president went on to say that "the average completion rate of the 89 projects is 52%, with work at some of the sites at 70% to 80% complete."
