MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is paying working visits to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to meet with their leaders and discuss bilateral, regional and international affairs.
Putin is expected to hold separate meetings with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, both in private and in the presence of delegations. They might sign documents during these meetings but are not expected to make any joint statements to the press.
The talks will cover the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and other crises in the Middle East, including Syria, Yemen and Sudan, as well as the progress of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.
Both Gulf monarchies have received an invitation to join BRICS this year, and their accession during Russia's upcoming chairmanship in the organization is also expected to be discussed. With Saudi Arabia's leader, Putin will discuss energy cooperation within the OPEC+ format.
