The death toll from the earthquake in Morocco has risen to 2,497 people, with 2,476 others received injuries, the local newspaper reported on Monday, citing the Interior Ministry. Previous reports indicated that 2,122 people were killed and 2,421 others were injured.On Saturday, the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI declared three day of national mourning over devastating consequences of the earthquake.Moreover, Moroccan government spokesman Mustafa Baytas told reporters that the Kingdom's authorities, following a cabinet meeting, decided to set up a special fund to back the earthquake victims.The government also reportedly agreed to accept help from the number of countries including Spain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in search and rescue efforts.Earlier, the Qatar Red Crescent Society resolved to provide tents, blankets, hygiene kits, food and medicine worth 1 million Qatari riyals ($274,600) to Morocco.
