Russian IT achievements have attracted great interest at the technology fair GITEX AFRICA 2023. According to a Russian trade representative in Morocco, the use of these technologies will allow African countries not only to ensure their independence in the digital sphere, but also to raise the level of development of their economies.
GITEX AFRICA 2023, Africa's largest technology trade show, has recently concluded in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. Organized by the Moroccan Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform and hosted by Digital Development Agency (ADD), it took place from May 31 to June 2.
Russia's trade representative in Morocco, Alexey Andreyev, shared his impressions of the continent's first such technology exhibition with Sputnik Africa.

Russian Pilot Projects Already on the Way

Andreyev noted the presence of numerous Russian digital companies at the event. They had an opportunity to present their solutions and products to the African market.
"I would like to emphasize the great interest of Moroccans and Africans in Russian IT solutions. Negotiations with various companies have already started," he said.
According to him, Russian companies are considering pilot projects with foreign partners, as well as coupling Russian software with platforms used in Morocco and other African countries.
The African continent, with its enormous digital potential, offers great opportunities for cooperation with Russia, "which is now undoubtedly one of the world leaders in the field of IT."

Russian Technologies Ensure Digital Independence

According to Alexey Andreyev, mutually beneficial cooperation would allow Russian companies to expand sales of their products and their African partners to benefit from their competitive advantages.
"I am convinced that the use of Russian technologies will allow African countries not only to ensure their independence in the digital world, but also to develop their economies to a whole new level," he concluded.
