Goïta 'Won't Lower Standards' as He Takes Defense After Camara Killing: Expert
Malian Defense Minister Sadio Camara, killed on April 25 in a terrorist attack, significantly raised Mali's army standards through better organization, modern equipment, and new strategies, Souleymane Coulibaly, geopolitical analyst, told Sputnik Africa.
Camara set a high bar alongside President Assimi Goïta, his close ally, the speaker stressed.
By taking the Defense Minister role himself, Goïta can only reassure the population that the country is "moving forward," Coulibaly added.
