The primary goal of the center in Togo is to support the growing demand for Russian language learning, Russian education, and the establishment of direct cultural ties between peoples.
“Good neighbourliness, means, for example, supporting the establishment of a Russian House in our country, which could serve as a lever to intensify cooperation with Russia in the field of arts education, as well as exchanges of experience and knowledge in music, literature, cinema, and Russia’s practices, for example, in preserving and transmitting heritage, including in museum cooperation,” said Togo’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Arts, Professor Isaac Tséakpé, at the “Eurasia—the territory of traditional values” forum.
As noted by Petr Fradkov, chairman of PJSC Bank PSB and a member of the Supervisory Board of ANO “Eurasia,” the opening of the Russian House will be an important step toward strengthening long‑term relations.
“This is an important project that includes Russian‑language teaching, the reinforcement of ties with Russia, and the promotion of Russian culture. It helps convey our values around the world. This project deserves special attention, since we hope it will become a pilot for a network of Russian Houses worldwide,” Fradkov said.
State Duma deputy and chair of the ANO “Eurasia” Council Alyona Arshinova stressed that the project’s task is to provide people in Togo and other countries on the continent with a real instrument for cooperation: from access to Russian literature and culture to concrete educational traineeships and youth exchanges.
The “Eurasia—the territory of traditional values” forum, timed to the two‑year anniversary of ANO “Eurasia,” took place at the National Center RUSSIA. More than 800 participants attended, including ministers, representatives of business, education, culture, the media, and public organizations from across Eurasia and the African continent.
