Sputnik Launches Cooperation with Ghana
The Sputnik news agency and radio broadcaster has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Media, Arts and Communications of Ghana (UniMAC). The ceremony was attended by Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik and the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Eric Opoku-Mensah.
Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ghana Natalia Muzhennikova stated:
“We welcome the signing of the memorandum between Sputnik and the University of Media, Arts and Communications. May this first sign serve to deepen mutual understanding between Russia and Ghana, contribute to the enrichment of our countries, and help the younger generation enhance their knowledge.”
Following the signing, Vasily Pushkov emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with Ghana:
“We view Ghana as one of Russia’s key partners in West Africa. For us, it is important not only to exchange experience in the field of media communications, but also to create joint educational and outreach projects. I am confident that engagement with UniMAC students and faculty within the framework of the SputnikPro program and other initiatives will help build sustainable professional ties and open new opportunities for future Ghanaian journalists.”
Vice-Chancellor Eric Opoku-Mensah stated:
“The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) is proud to launch this strategic partnership with Sputnik. In an era where information shapes policy, this collaboration empowers African voices to reach a global stage through authentic storytelling. By leveraging Sputnik's network, we are not just importing expertise but we are equipping our students and faculty with the tools to share our continent's narrative with professional integrity.”
