At the invitation of the Russian president, President of Togo's Council Faure Gnassingbé is on an official visit to Moscow since Tuesday, the Togolese government said in a statement.
“This visit continues the consultations held over recent months with various international partners, aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation around African priorities of peace, security, and development,” it read.
The two leaders will discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in areas such as diplomacy, trade, agriculture, energy, training, and food security.
Issues of mutual international interest—including regional security, climate change mitigation, and the Sustainable Development Goals—will also be addressed.
