The United Arab Emirates and Chad signed 18 memoranda of understanding on economic cooperation on the sidelines of the bilateral trade and investment forum in Abu Dhabi, Emirati media reported.
The signed memoranda of understanding cover key economic sectors, including energy, infrastructure, and industry, opening up new opportunities for trade and investment and strengthening cooperation between the two countries, the report said on Monday.
An additional 21 memoranda were signed between Chad and various international organizations and other partners, the report added.
"In its first year, our five-year plan will mobilize $20.5 billion in financing, which suggests that the $30 billion target is achievable. To realize this result, I call for the resolute pursuit of reforms, particularly those aimed at reducing bureaucracy and significantly improving the business climate," President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno said in a statement.
