Ukrainian and Colombian mercenaries who fought alongside Sudan's rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and were eliminated in clashes in western Sudan used Ukrainian-made drones, Col. Fatah al-Sayyid of Sudanese military intelligence told Sputnik.
"The mercenaries used Ukrainian-made drones for reconnaissance and strikes against Sudanese army units," al-Sayyid said.
Fierce fighting between the RSF and the regular army has been ongoing in Sudan since April 2023. In March, the army announced that it had pushed rebels out of the capital, Khartoum. The RSF stepped up attacks in western and southern Sudan in April, declaring the formation of a rival government.
