Representatives of Western Europe and London in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) do not want to move toward a political settlement in Ukraine, they are issuing ultimatums, Russia's deputy envoy to the OSCE, Maxim Buyakevich, told RIA Novosti.
"Their approach to a political settlement is now absolutely unrealistic and does not take into account Russia's interests. All scenarios developed by European analysts are ultimatum-like, which in fact means a mood for further escalation of the conflict. The West is not interested in a ceasefire," Buyakevich said.
He recalled that Moscow had repeatedly explained why it would not agree to a unilateral and unconditional pause.
"No one is going to give Ukraine time to rearm and regroup, which is what Western opponents want so much," Buyakevich said.
"Their rhetoric is bellicose and aimed at the militarization of Europe and continued military support for Ukraine," the deputy envoy concluded.
