Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and World Trade Organization (WTO) Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala discussed the need for urgent reform of the organization at their meeting in Brazil, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"On July 6 in Rio de Janeiro, on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS summit, a meeting was held between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and WTO Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The need for urgent reform of the WTO based on the principles of inclusiveness, non-discrimination, transparency and mutual respect was confirmed," the ministry said.
