For 75 years, global power has been controlled by a few. But now, the Global South is taking destiny into its own hands, geopolitical analyst and geostrategist Souleymane Coulibaly, who is head of Mali's delegation to Russia's Global Digital Forum, told Sputnik Africa.
"There is a game-changing, the paradigms are changing, […] now everybody can, from your own place, develop whatever you dare," the analyst noted.
Mali sees its partnership with Russia as more than strategic — it’s symbolic. A nation that never colonized Africa, but supported African independence movements, he added.

"Russia really expanding the knowledge and those kinds of information throughout the continent of Africa," the expert said.
Russia’s influence is growing across Africa, filling gaps left by Western institutions, the analyst pointed out.
"Russia played a key part in pressuring all the colonial powers to give their independence to the fallen," he emphasized.
