North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has told Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu during a meeting in Pyongyang that his country would "unconditionally support" Russia amid the situation with Ukraine, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Thursday.
Kim said that North Korea would "continue to unconditionally support the stand of Russia and its foreign policies" on critical global issues including Ukraine, responsibly complying with the articles of the treaty between North Korea and Russia, the KCNA reported.
The discussions also covered strengthening the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership in different fields and shared perspectives on the Ukraine crisis and broader international dynamics, the agency reported.
Kim expressed confidence in Russia’s victory in a "just and sacred cause" to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security. He also extended warm wishes to Putin, the Russian government, army and people, according to the agency.
