From June 5 to 6, the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod will host the Global Digital Forum, dedicated to the interaction of Russia and developing countries in the field of information and communication technologies.
This event will bring together experts from all over the world to discuss issues of digital technology development and possible cooperation.
The organizers expect more than 1,500 foreign participants, and about 10,000 more will be able to join the event online. The forum will also host the exhibition "Digitalization of Industrial Russia," where more than 170 companies will present their developments.
According to Advisor to the Russian president's administration for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies and Communications Infrastructure Margarita Klimanova, a total of 62 countries have already confirmed their participation in this event, 31 African countries are expected to attend.
The central topics of the forum include issues related to bridging the digital divide, effective technology transfer, building the capacity of the Global South, and international information security in the context of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Additionally, the agenda includes discussions on cooperation in the field of education, improving media and digital literacy, and recognizing false information. A separate priority is the implementation of the decisions from the World Summit on the Information Society, with the extension of this initiative being considered by the UN General Assembly this year.
In parallel with the business program, participants will be able to enjoy the cultural part of the event, including excursions to the sights of Nizhny Novgorod and its environs.
