Russia and the US talks in Istanbul have ended, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Thursday.
The parties have discussed a significant part of the agenda, the source added earlier in a commentary to Sputnik.
The situation at the Russian Consulate General, where the consultations are taking place, was calm, a Sputnik correspondent reports.
The talks were expected to be thorough and last for many hours, a source told Sputnik.
"Detailed, multi-hour negotiations are planned," the source said, adding that the consultations are expected to last at least four hours.
The Russian delegation is headed by Ambassador Alexander Darchiev, while the US delegation is headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Sonata Coulter.
According to Darchiev, the meeting should help get rid of the “toxic legacy” of the Biden administration.
In addition, during the new round of consultations, the Russian side will talk about the return of seized diplomatic property and raise the issue of resuming direct flights.
