Kenyan Officers in Haiti Reportedly Facing Increasing Number of Attacks Amid Their Security Mission

The Multinational Security Support (MSS), which has around 1,000 personnel—mostly from Kenya—aims to restore security in Haiti for elections by 2026. However, the growing number of attacks and the lack of adequate equipment are alarming.

Two Kenyan police officers deployed in Haiti have been seriously injured in clashes with gangs over the past week, three officers told a Western media outlet on Tuesday.
"As in any mission, casualties are sometimes unavoidable," reportedly said MSS spokesperson Jack Ombaka, confirming that the injured officers were evacuated to the Dominican Republic for medical care.
