Two Kenyan police officers deployed in Haiti have been seriously injured in clashes with gangs over the past week, three officers told a Western media outlet on Tuesday.
"As in any mission, casualties are sometimes unavoidable," reportedly said MSS spokesperson Jack Ombaka, confirming that the injured officers were evacuated to the Dominican Republic for medical care.
The report also indicated that officers refused to use 20 armored vehicles after bullets penetrated them twice.
An MSS delegation is set to visit Washington to address concerns over protective gear with US officials, two senior MSS officers told the media outlet.
