Ukrainian special services are engaged in recruitment in Russia and obtaining information about the conduct of the special military operation under the cover of the RAND Corporation think tank (listed as an undesirable organization in Russia), Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Thursday.
"Russia's FSB has obtained information about the use by representatives of the Ukrainian special services of the cover of the influential US corporation RAND Corporation for recruitment activities on the territory of Russia and obtaining limited information about Russia conducting the special military operation in Ukraine," the FSB said in a statement.
The Ukrainian special services were interested in the information on the organizational structure of Russian armed forces and the means of electronic warfare, Russia's FSB said.
The FSB published telephone conversations of the special services of Ukraine under the cover of RAND with an employee of the law enforcement agency in Russia's Chita.
"Organizational and staff structure, staffing, combat strength, weapons, electronic warfare," the agent of the Ukrainian special services replied when asked what information he was interested in.
The agent also said that for collecting such data, you can get, on average, about one thousand dollars.
