Nigeria's biggest port will be set up in southwestern Ogun state's Olokola Free Trade Zone, entrepreneur Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the president of the Dangote Group, unveiled during a meeting with the state's governor, Dapo Abiodun.
"Thanks to your policies and a favorable business climate, we are returning to Olokola. Plans are underway to construct Nigeria’s largest port," media quoted the Nigerian businessman as saying during the meeting.
Dangote noted that Ogun had become Nigeria's top industrial hub and attributed the increased investment to the state's business-friendly policies, Governor Abiodun said in a statement.
"We are pleased to welcome Alhaji Aliko Dangote and his company back to Ogun State, as he reaffirmed his confidence in our administration’s vision and investor-friendly policies. During his visit, Dangote highlighted that his decision to return and invest in the state was driven by our deliberate efforts to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive," he noted following the meeting.
