Russian Forces Surround Over 100 Ukrainian Soldiers West of Sudzha in Kursk Region, Army Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Over the past few weeks, the Russian military intensified the counter-offensive in the Kursk region and regained numerous settlements previously occupied by Ukrainian forces, the border town of Sudzha among them.

A Ukrainian military detachment of over 100 servicemen has been surrounded by Russian forces west of the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region, an officer of Russia's Sever (North) battle group told Sputnik on Saturday.
"A Ukrainian unit of over 100 men is surrounded west of Sudzha. Artillery is firing at them. [This is] a real cauldron. No one will get out," the officer said.
Ukraine lost over 220 soldiers, a tank, and two armored personnel carriers in the Kursk operation over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
