The US airstrikes against the Yemeni movement Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, in the Yemeni capital city of Sanaa will not go unpunished, as the Houthis are ready for a tit-for-tat response, the Houthi politburo said on Saturday.
"The aggression will not go unresponded. Our Yemeni armed forces are ready to meet escalation with escalation," the politburo said.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump said that he had ordered the US army to "launch decisive and powerful military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen."
Meanwhile, the death toll from US airstrikes on Sanaa is at least 13, the Houthi Health Ministry said.
"The death toll from American aggression has risen to 22, 13 of whom were killed and nine were wounded," Houthi health ministry spokesman Anis al-Asbahi said on X.
