Most Massive Ukrainian Drone Attack on Moscow Repelled, City Mayor Says

The most massive attack of Ukrainian UAVs on Moscow has been repelled; hundreds of combat drones have been shot down at various places, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on Tuesday.

"The most massive attack of enemy UAVs on Moscow has been repelled. Hundreds of combat drones have been shot down at various places. Thanks to the air defense forces of the Aerospace Forces of the Ministry of Defense for their excellent work," Sobyanin wrote on Telegram.

Earlier in the day, the official said that 74 drones flying towards Moscow had been downed.

A man died in a drone attack in the Moscow region's Domodedovo, and two more were injured, the Moscow region's Governor Andrey Vorobyov said.

"Domodedovo. Parking lot next to the production complex and distribution center of the Miratorg company in the village of Yam. A 38-year-old man, a security guard, died here. Two more people were injured — a 50-year-old man is now in the intensive care unit ... and a 44-year-old man with head injuries was hospitalized at the Domodedovo hospital," Vorobyov wrote on Telegram.

Additionally, six people, including a child, were injured in a drone strike in the Moscow region's Vidnoye city, but there is no threat to the lives of those injured, the governor noted.

A massive drone attack on Moscow is connected with the visit of Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu to the Russian capital, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated.

"This is not the first time that a visit to Moscow by a high-ranking foreign delegation has been accompanied by an attack by Ukrainian armed forces drones. And tonight, the Kiev regime sent drones to the capital when the OSCE secretary general was visiting. The head of the organization that [Ukraine's Volodymyr] Zelensky's sponsors have reduced to a talking shop, depriving it of its original purpose — ensuring security and cooperation in Europe," Zakharova noted on Telegram.

The Russian air defense systems have shot down and intercepted 337 Ukrainian drones over the country's territory overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

"During the past night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 337 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles: 91 UAVs over the territory of the Moscow region, 126 UAVs over the territory of the Kursk region, 38 UAVs over the territory of the Bryansk region, 25 UAVs over the territory of the Belgorod region, 22 UAVs over the territory of the Ryazan region, 10 UAVs over the territory of the Kaluga region, eight UAVs over the territory of the Lipetsk region, eight UAVs over the territory of the Oryol region, six UAVs over the territory of the Voronezh region and three UAVs over the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region," the ministry said in a statement.
