The interview was posted on the journalist's X page.
"And we said that we're all willing to provide security guarantees for Israel. We, all of us, we will be integrated together as one region, and demilitarize Palestinian state even. So it's not even like, you know, fully independent or... So it's basically like everything you are offering and in exchange... we were always like, you know, either because of their political situation in Israel, like we were always faced by rejections. There were just few leaders in Israel who had the courage to come out and to say that this is the only solution, this is the only way forward. But in the last few years we didn't see any of them," Al Thani said.
Speaking about another conflict — the Ukrainian one — the Qatari top diplomat noted that US President Donald Trump's actions to resolve the conflict in Ukraine are steps in the right direction and that the conflict must end peacefully with the interests of both parties respected.
"If you look at the recent efforts that President Trump is doing together with the Kingdom of Saudi [Arabia], I believe this is the right direction, the right path," Al Thani said.
He said Saudi Arabia tried to become a mediator on energy issues, but it "did not work out."
