Starting in March, the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT) will issue all tourism operating licenses exclusively online to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.
The ZCT announced that, while existing licenses issued prior to March 3, 2025, will remain valid until they expire, all new applications and renewals must now be processed through the online system. All tourism-related businesses are required to obtain and prominently display their licenses issued through the new online platform.
