During his several speeches at plenary sessions, Lavrov will give a detailed analysis of the international situation with a focus on the root causes of the crisis events and outline concrete steps to overcome destructive phenomena. The minister will also reaffirm the course on preserving the central role of the UN in world affairs.
Lavrov is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the G20 ministerial meeting.
The presidency in the G20 passed to South Africa from Brazil on December 1 last year. South Africa will transfer it to the United States at the end of November. South Africa's presidency is held under the motto "Solidarity, Equality and Sustainable Development." The G20 summit will be held on November 22-23 in Johannesburg.
