The Democratic Republic of the Congo's (DRC) Ambassador to the United Nations, Zenon Mukongo Ngay, has criticized the world body for its double standards and failure to pass a resolution regarding the conflict in his country while significant attention is directed toward Ukraine and Gaza.

"The attention [to the conflict in DRC] is there, but not as we see in Ukraine or in Gaza; it is different. I can say that openly, there is a double standard approach, because when you look at the mobilization of the international community with Ukraine and Israel and Gaza as well, what we see in Congo now cannot compare," Ngay told Sputnik in an interview.

The conditions on the ground in the DRC are worsening, and the UN Security Council has yet to pass a resolution calling for Rwanda to withdraw from the territory of its neighboring country, Ngay also pointed out.
