A meeting was held in Moscow between Anton Kobyakov, an advisor to the Russian president, and Yevgeny Primakov, Head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and the Russian humanitarian agency Rossotrudnichestvo. The main topic of the meeting was the joint work of the Roscongress Foundation and Rossotrudnichestvo.
The parties agreed to systematically interact on the content of Russian Houses in foreign countries. Special attention during the meeting was paid to the scientific and educational track and cultural events, as well as the development of the foreign network of Russian Houses.
"Russian Houses are places that remind all Russian citizens living abroad of their homeland, their points of attraction, which allow them to keep abreast of events taking place in Russia. The presentation of key business platforms in our country, their development and the results of events at Russian Houses will allow our compatriots and everyone interested in the Russian agenda in the host countries to receive the most up-to-date information. I am convinced that support for humanitarian and cultural values among all Russian citizens is extremely important today. In this regard, the activities of the Russian Houses are of particular importance," said Kobyakov.
It is planned that the existing programs and topics of the Russian Houses will be supplemented by the Roscongress Foundation. The Foundation's key projects will be presented at various venues, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum, the Russian Energy Week, the International Tourism Forum "Travel!" and other congresses, exhibitions, and discussion platforms.
During the meeting, Yevgeny Primakov noted that this year marks the 100th anniversary of Russian public diplomacy. A number of anniversary events are planned, with the central event of the anniversary year being the Cooperation Forum, which will be held in Moscow in the fall.
According to Primakov, Russian Houses are becoming important centers for preserving Russian culture and language, facilitating the integration of Russian-speaking communities into global society. Their activities contribute not only to cultural identity but also to the formation of a positive image of Russia in the international arena, serving as a striking example of cultural and public diplomacy.
"I am convinced that holding such a forum will emphasize the importance of diplomatic activity for the benefit of all our compatriots," he emphasized.
The new format of interaction with Rossotrudnichestvo will allow the Roscongress Foundation to receive informational and organizational support for its events and initiatives in Russia and abroad.
