The Russian Red Cross Society (RCC) will supply medical equipment worth over $530,000 to the society's Dejazmach Balcha Abanefso Hospital in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, chairman of the RCC Pavel Savchuk said on social media.
"We are working at the hospital to develop a new plan for its modernization. In a few days we will bring medical equipment worth almost 50 million rubles [around $530,000] to modernize the hospital and solve the existing problems and challenges here," he pointed out.
The RCC delegation also plans to meet with the leadership of the Ethiopian Red Cross to discuss joint initiatives to develop humanitarian and medical programs.
The RCC hospital is the first Russian multiprofile medical facility in Africa. According to the Russian Ministry of Health, more than 60,000 patients are treated there every year.
