According to a fact sheet on the executive order, quoted by the news agency, the president promised to find and deport "resident aliens who joined in the pro-jihadist protest."
The president also promised to cancel student visas of "all Hamas sympathizers on college campuses."
Numerous pro-Palestinian demonstrations have rocked college campuses across the United States in 2024 as protesters are urging an end to US military, financial and diplomatic support for Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip that were launched in response to the October 7 attack by Hamas. Students also called on their universities to condemn Israel's military campaign in Gaza, divest from companies linked to Israel, and discontinue programs of study abroad at Israeli universities.
