The Russian Navy is already being equipped with unmanned surface vehicles, and the production has increased significantly, Russian presidential aide and chairman of the Maritime Board of Russia Nikolay Patrushev told a Russian newspaper.

"I can say that the Russian Navy is already equipped with unmanned surface vehicles (USV). Their production has been significantly increased, taking into account the experience of the special military operation," the official pointed out.

Russia is creating a unified center of competence for the production of new USVs that are superior to foreign models, he noted.
"This work will involve the necessary financial resources, as well as the best personnel - not only military, but also civilian, including from leading companies in the technology sector. AI and machine learning technologies are expected to be used in the creation of new types of USV," Patrushev added.
