Russia and the Central African Republic (CAR) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of geology and subsoil use during a bilateral meeting of Russian Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Sergey Anoprienko and Rufin Benam Beltoungou, Minister of Mines and Geology of the CAR, the Russian natural resources ministry reported.
The main areas of cooperation covered in the document include:
Regional geological exploration of the subsoil;
Technological exploration and development of the mineral resource base;
Organization of examination of mineral reserves;
Conducting prospecting, evaluation and exploration work on various types of minerals;
Laboratory and analytical research.
Earlier, Valentina Matvienko, the chairwoman of the upper house of the country's parliament, stated that the visit of the Central African president to Russia demonstrates the high level of friendly relations.
