The Zimbabwean government has completed over 8,000 projects nationwide since the start of the Second Republic under President Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2017, Jenfan Muswere, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, said during a media tour of Manicaland Province.
"A total of 8 000 projects have been successfully completed from 2017, when His Excellency the President assumed office. You will all agree with me that so much has been achieved in a short space of time. We have had, for the year 2024, 346 projects that were completed," Muswere stated.
The tour highlighted projects such as the National Pharmaceutical Company warehouse, solar projects at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital, and various irrigation schemes including Megamarket, a project started by the president three years prior.
Muswere also noted that the government's project implementation demonstrates its commitment to devolution, a key initiative of the Second Republic. Zimbabwe's devolution initiative transfers power and resources from the central government to local authorities, focusing on economic development, citizen participation, and good governance, while maintaining national unity within a unitary state.
