In 2024, Senegal's Sangomar offshore oil field produced 16.9 million barrels of crude, surpassing its original goal of 11.7 million, the Senegalese Energy Ministry reported.
The Sangomar oil field, located 100 km south of Dakar and discovered 10 years ago, is now producing using a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel and is expected to reach 100,000 barrels per day.
According to the ministry's statement, all Sangomar wells were brought online by the end of 2024, achieving an output of 2.96 million barrels in December, of which 2.94 million were exported.
