RIA Novosti journalists, who were wounded in a strike by the Ukrainian armed forces on a civilian car in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) on Saturday, received medical assistance in Donetsk, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
Correspondent Maxim Romanenko was hospitalized with a concussion, while his colleague Mikhail Kevkhiev received a mild concussion and did not need hospitalization.
Romanenko said he found a shrapnel fragment that had stuck in his clothes after the drone attack and could have injured his chest.
"It was only after the evacuation that I discovered a small abrasion on my chest in the area of my heart. A small metal fragment got stuck in the clothes in the same place," the reporter said.
The examination by traumatologists found no fragments or harmful elements in his body, Romanenko added.
During the Ukrainian shelling, the freelance correspondent of the Izvestia newspaper, Alexander Martemyanov, was killed. In the car, there were also employees of Donetsk-based publication Bloknot, Svetlana Larina and Izabella Liberman.
