Zelensky Says Yet to Decide Whether to Run for Reelection

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term as president expired in May 2024, has said that he has yet to make a decision on running for the second presidential term.

"I do not know how the war will end. If I do more than I can, then maybe I will be looking on that decision [to run for reelection] more positively. This is not my priority nor goal right now," Zelensky told Ukrainian media on Thursday.
The presidential term of Zelensky technically expired on May 20, 2024. Ukraine was due to hold a presidential election on March 31, but it was delayed due to the ongoing martial law amid the military conflict with Russia.
