Benin's foreign ministry has summoned Niger's charge d'affaires to the country after Niger's leader Abdourahamane Tchiani accused Benin of supporting terrorists.
The Benin Foreign Ministry stated that, despite summoning the Niger Charge d'Affaires over "unfounded accusations," they remain dedicated to dialogue and fraternal cooperation.
Benin's Foreign Minister Olushegun Adjadi Bakari protested against Tchiani's words in a letter to Niger's Foreign Ministry and already received the envoy, according to a diplomatic source cited by the media.
Earlier, Tchiani, accused France and Benin of supporting terrorism, saying that Benin provided drones to terrorist groups operating in vulnerable regions.
