Russian President Vladimir Putin sent warm Christmas and New Year greetings to leaders of foreign countries, including BRICS members Ethiopia and South Africa.
Among those who received Putin's telegrams were Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed and President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, the Kremlin press service reported.
On December 30, the Kremlin traditionally reports on leaders who have received New Year's messages from the Russian president. A year ago, there were no reports of congratulations to the Ethiopian prime minister.
