"The development of the International Scientific Lunar Station is underway in cooperation with China and other countries. As part of its contribution to the project, Russia plans to deliver and install a nuclear energy facility on the lunar surface in 2033-2035," the statement read.
Russia and China signed a deal in November 2022 on the joint creation of the ISLS. Roscosmos head Yuri Borisov said last spring that Russian and Chinese space agencies were considering installing a nuclear energy facility on the Moon as part of the joint project, and that the development of the facility had already begun.
