Germany is almost defenseless against Russia's Oreshnik medium-range missile system, the Bild newspaper reported on Friday, citing the German Foreign Ministry's document.
The German Foreign Ministry instructed military experts from the German armed forces (Bundeswehr) to analyze the country's readiness for a theoretical Oreshnik attack after this system was used against the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk (Dnipro) on November 21, the report said.
The document revealed that the Patriot air defense systems are not suitable for countering the Oreshnik due to the missile's flight speed, its maneuverability and the presence of separable warheads, the report added.
