The United States has repatriated Mohammed Abdul Malik Bajabu, one of the last remaining 30 prisoners held at the infamous Guantanamo Bay facility, to Kenya, the US Department of Defense said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The Department of Defense announced today the repatriation of Mohammed Abdul Malik Bajabu (ISN 10025) from the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay to the Government of Kenya," the statement said.
Bajabu was repatriated after it was concluded that his detention was "no longer necessary to protect against a continuing significant threat to the national security of the United States," the statement added.
