Russia's Military Cooperation in 2024 Covered More Than 100 Countries, Says Defense Minister

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Monday, the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation hosted an extended meeting of the defense ministry's board, chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Andrey Belousov.

Russia's military cooperation in 2024 covered more than 100 countries, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said in a statement on Monday.
"This year it [military cooperation] covered more than 100 countries," Belousov said at an expanded meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry.
In 2024, Russia expanded its cooperation with allies and strategic partners from the CIS, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, the minister added.
Minister Belousov also revealed that the Russian armed forces ensure military presence in the countries of Central Asia, Africa, Caucasus and Transnistria.
"In such circumstances, the activities of the Russian Defense Ministry are based on the following key factors. Firstly, it is the conduct of active hostilities during the special military operation. And also – the fulfillment of certain tasks and the provision of a military presence in the countries of Central Asia and Africa, the Caucasus and Transnistria," he said.
