Nigeria's Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Cameroon's Neptune Oil energy company have completed the first export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Nigeria to Cameroon, the Nigerian refinery's CEO Aliko Dangote said in a joint statement with Neptune Oil's CEO Antoine Ndzengue, released to local media on Wednesday.
"This first export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa," Dangote stated.
The move, made in partnership with Neptune Oil, marks a significant step towards regional energy integration, aiming to strengthen economic ties and meet growing energy demands in the region, the Nigerian CEO emphasized.
"With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people," Dangote noted.
The partnership seeks to establish a reliable supply chain, stabilize fuel prices, and create economic opportunities, Ndzengue and Dangote pointed out in the statement.
"This development not only showcases the refinery's capabilities but also reinforces its commitment to driving energy transformation across Africa," Dangote said.
