On Saturday, the military government of Burkina Faso announced the appointment of Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo as the new prime minister. He replaced Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela, who stepped down after the government was dissolved on Friday.
Ouedraogo earlier served as communication minister and spokesperson for the previous government.
Tambela had been appointed interim prime minister following Ibrahim Traoré's seizure of power in September 2022.
