"Russia and Kenya, dynamic countries with rapidly developing economies, talented residents, rich cultural heritage, and picturesque nature, have been developing friendly relations based on mutual respect and trust since 1963. Last year, we celebrated the 60th anniversary of our relations. Russia perceives Kenya as a promising African power and an important political and economic partner," the ambassador said during the ceremony held at the presidential residence in Nairobi.
"Kenya plays an important role in maintaining stability in Africa and around the world, which is highly appreciated in Russia. I am convinced that Russian-Kenyan relations have great potential. My task as ambassador is to strengthen our cooperation, increase trade, attract investment in tourism and education, as well as other areas," he added.
