Lower Chamber of Russia's Parliament Ratifies Agreement With Algeria on Space Cooperation

The agreement was signed by Russia and Algeria on June 15, 2023, in Moscow and submitted to the lower chamber of Russia's parliament, the State Duma, on October 19 this year. It is aimed at creating a legal basis for mutually beneficial development of cooperation between two countries in the field of joint space activities for peaceful purposes.

The lower chamber of Russia's parliament ratified an agreement between Russia and Algeria on cooperation in space exploration.

"The agreement was prepared […] in connection with the steady trend towards expanding cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Algerian People's Democratic Republic in the field of space activities in areas such as satellite navigation, space communications, satellite television and radio broadcasting, and the use of related information technologies and services," the document said.

The document also includes provisions on the protection of intellectual property created or transferred within its framework, as well as determines the procedure for customs regulation.
