For Chad, joining the AES "would be one of the best alternatives to address the eternal security concern," Youssouf Adam Abdallah, the Chadian specialist in international security, defense and African cooperation, said, commenting on ways to defeat Boko Haram, in an interview with Sputnik Africa.
He noted that the joint military force to fight terrorist groups, created by Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso in March, could further assist Chad in resolving regional conflicts.
Given that Chad is already a member of several other security confederations with Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, "it is therefore in the interest of Chad and the Chadian people that Chad join the AES Force," the expert stated.
