AvtoVAZ, the manufacturer of Lada cars, is trying to regain its global foothold by reviving exports to regions it previously served. The Russian company plans to resume exports to Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America.
This was announced to journalists by the company's president Maxim Sokolov on the sidelines of the XVIII International Forum and Exhibition "Transport of Russia," held in Moscow on November 16-21.
"I can name regions not only in the Middle East, but also in East Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We were actively present there in Soviet times, and now we are planning to resume this direction for our promising exports," AvtoVAZ CEO said.
Earlier, the Russian businessman said that AvtoVAZ plans to increase car exports to 100,000 units per year after 2030.
