Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Holds Press Conference at G20 Summit

Sputnik Africa is live as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov holds a press conference following the G20 summit in Brazil.
Lavrov held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the event and delivered speeches on fighting inequality, famine, poverty and reforms of global institutions.
On Monday, Lavrov spoke about Russia’s efforts to ensure food security for developing countries at a plenary session of the summit, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik.
Russia's top diplomat supported Brazil's initiative to create a Global Alliance to Fight Hunger and Poverty, announced by the country's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at the opening ceremony of the summit, the spokeswoman noted.
The G20 leaders' summit is taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from November 18 to 19. Brazil holds the group's rotating presidency this year. On December 1, South Africa will become the G20 chair.
