Algerian President Carries Out Government Reshuffle After September Re-Election

Abdelmadjid Tebboune secured a landslide victory in the elections on September 7, garnering over 5.3 million votes, representing 94.65% of the total, according to Algeria's National Independent Authority for Elections. He has been serving as president since 2019.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune conducted a government reshuffle two months after being re-elected at the presidential election, the presidency's spokesperson Samir Aggoune said in a briefing.
"President Tebboune received Prime Minister Mohamed Nadir Larbaoui, who presented to him the resignation of the government, which the president accepted," Aggoune noted.
He added that Larbaoui is the only official who remains in an updated cabinet. Aggoune said that the president, by a decree, appointed 37 new ministers and secretaries of state.
